Cookies Use

Cookies are information sent to the browser by a web server and then stored in the user's computer on the hard disk. Cookies usually contain an anonymous, unique identification code. Once saved cookies are read an recognized by the website in case it is accessed again afterwards. Web pages do not have memory. An user who browses through pages on a website is not recognized as being the same user on every single page. Cookies allow the website to recognize the user's browser. Cookies are therefore used mainly to remember the choices made by the users (for instance the language chosen) and to recognize the recurrent users of the website.

The data potentially obtained from cookies are then used by the website owner to provide easier and faster access to the website. The users may, at any moment, cease to give their consent for the cookies used on this website, by changing their browser's settings. ETA2U does not send this information to any third party.

There are different types of cookies, which are used, depending on what is required:

  • Technical cookie: allow the visualization of the website, its correct operation, creating an account and the automatic login. These are indispensable for the website to operate correctly.
  • Thir-party cookies: In some cases third parties (an external organization providing us services) places a cookie on a device in order to be able to acquire information related to the browsing habits, that identifies the use of certain services being supplied. An example would be that of a third-party cookie that indicates clicks made on a link redirecting to our website from a search made on Google or other search engines. Another example is the "Like " button on Facebook. A cookie is generated through this button and it can be read by Facebook. This may be considered a third-party cookie. Third-party cookies policy is not part of our cookies use policy. For more information on this, please contact directly the third-party sellers.

Your cookie-related preferences may be modified. From the browser's settings (Internet Explorer, Safari, Firefox, Chrome, etc.), the user may decide which cookies he/she wishes to accept and which cookies he/she does not want to give consent for. Thus the pages that were visited by the user will be communicated to the Facebook or Google server. If certain functions of the plug-in (for instance click on the "Like" button or comments) are used, this information will be added to the Facebook or Google account of the user.
