And while Sophia was just visiting our country, Pepper is here to stay!

Pepper is a humanoid robot and it is the child, if we may say so, of SoftBank Robotics, the world leader in manufacturing and selling humanoid robots.

Pepper currently has around 20.000 brothers and sisters worldwide, but it is the first of its kind to come to this part of the world.

Pepper was adopted by a local university and it will be used within the Robotics Department where the students will learn and will teach Pepper new things. Although Pepper already knows many things, it may be taught to do various things. Be it an entertainment, marketing, information, data collection, communication with customers or identity recognition, Pepper can do it all. And since artificial intelligence is one of the most desired technologies of the future, Pepper's array of sensors may be used to develop artificial intelligence technology.

Besides the education field Pepper, along with other fellow robots, is successfully used in many other fields such as retail, banking, tourism, healthcare and public services.

From a technical standpoint Pepper is equipped with 4 microphones, 2 HD cameras and a 3D depth sensor. It has a gyroscope in its thorax and touch sensors in the palms and head. The mobile base has 2 sonars, 6 lasers, 3 bumper sensors and a gyroscope.

We, ETA2U, maintain our promise to provide advanced technology to the companies in Romania and to this end we conclude partnerships with the manufacturers in all the IT branches. If you wish to find out more on Pepper – let us present it to you!
